On a callout we get up (safely — we won't put anyone on a roof in dangerous wind), sheet and secure the damaged area, clear anything that's a hazard, and get the water stopped. That buys time. Then we quote and carry out the permanent repair in daylight and settled weather, when it can actually be done to last rather than bodged in the dark and rain.
